2. Vajikarana for procreation.

The basic difference between Modern and Ayurvedic medicines in thinking about health is that Modern medicine talks about mortality morbidity and disability etc. Negative factors while measuring the state of health, where as Ayurveda considers about positive health and quality of life parameters while assessing the status of health. And Rasayana treatment improves these positive inputs further. And Rasayana is quite –relevant in these days of less mortality with more life expectancy, studies say that with less mortality there is more morbidity, as its main aim is to add life to years and not mealy years to life.
Acharya Charaka and Sushrutha have spelt out two distinct yet mutually complementary objectives for Ayurveda that is

2. The restorative therapies to cure the disease and restore health, when it disturbed. Thus, Rasayana falls under the first objective of Ayurveda. According to him Rasayana contributes - to long life, lasting memory, talent, healthy physique, luster, bright complexion, good voice, strength of body and senses, truthfulness, respect and glowing body.
